304 Stainless Steel Anode Tube for Wet Electrostatic Precipitator
Product Overview
Our 304 stainless steel anode tube is a cost-effective collecting electrode module for wet electrostatic precipitators and electric tar precipitators. It is suitable for industrial flue gas and process gas systems where moisture, tar mist, oil mist, dust and fine particulate matter are present, but chloride content and acid corrosion are relatively low.
304 stainless steel offers good general corrosion resistance, stable electrical conductivity, good formability and weldability. When formed into a honeycomb hexagonal tube bundle, it provides a compact collecting electrode structure with uniform electric field distribution and reliable tar mist, oil mist and PM2.5 removal performance.
Why Choose 304 for WESP Anode Tubes
Cost-effective stainless steel option: 304 provides reliable corrosion resistance for mildly corrosive wet gas environments at a lower material cost than 316L or 2205.
Good formability: easy to process into hexagonal honeycomb tubes, supporting compact module design and efficient space utilization.
Stable conductivity: stainless steel surface maintains consistent electrical performance, supporting uniform corona discharge and stable particle collection.
Smooth inner surface: polished tube walls help form a continuous water film, improving flushing efficiency and reducing tar or dust buildup.
Suitable for low-chloride applications: recommended when flue gas has low chloride ion concentration, low acid mist carryover and moderate operating temperature.
Structure & Working Principle
Honeycomb hexagonal anode tube: multiple hexagonal tubes are arranged into a bundle, forming a grounded collecting electrode module.
Cooperation with discharge electrode: a central discharge electrode generates corona discharge, charging dust, mist and aerosol particles.
Electrostatic collection: charged PM2.5, tar mist, oil mist, water droplets and fine particles migrate to the anode tube wall and are captured.
Wet flushing cleaning: circulating water or process liquid washes captured pollutants from the inner tube surface into the drain, preventing fouling and maintaining stable operation.
Typical Applications
Electric tar precipitator for coke oven gas and coal gas
Oil mist and tar mist removal in carbon and graphite production
Rubber vulcanization exhaust purification
Biomass pyrolysis gas tar mist separation
Industrial process gas with low chloride and low acid mist
Front-end tar and oil mist interception before downstream treatment systems

FAQ
When is 304 stainless steel suitable for WESP anode tubes?
304 is suitable for mildly corrosive wet gas with low chloride content, low acid mist carryover and moderate operating temperature.
Can 304 anode tubes be used for tar mist removal?
Yes. They are widely used in electric tar precipitators and WESP systems to remove tar mist, oil mist, PM2.5 and fine particulate matter.
What is the main limitation of 304 compared with 316L or 2205?
304 has lower resistance to chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking. In high-chloride or acidic wet flue gas, 316L or 2205 is usually recommended.
Can the anode module be customized?
Yes. Tube diameter, length, wall thickness, module quantity, material grade and connection structure can be customized according to actual process conditions.
